The Hawks were near faultless in their preliminary final at Milawa, coming home with a four-goal final term to seal a deserved 15.10 (100) to 10.10 (70) triumph.
The Hawks will face Whorouly in the grand final at W.J. Findlay Oval next week thanks to some brilliant performances from Joel Bihun, Ben Bell, Jamie Bell and Owen Patterson.
Star ruckman Jamie Bell said the club would not be taking Whorouly lightly in the decider.
“Whorouly have proven all year that they are the side to beat,” he said.
“We will have to play out of our skins to beat them.
“Beating them both times will mean nothing going into a grand final.
“If we can produce our best footy the outcome will look after itself.
“They will be thinking the same thing as us.”
North Wangaratta led by just two points at quarter-time but burst the game open with a seven-goal second quarter to lead by a comfortable 26 points at half-time.
Roos playing coach Jono Rea, star forward Brendan Sessions (three goals) and Matthew Glossop were outstanding as they helped reduce the deficit to 17 points at the last change.
But King Valley could only manage 2.2 to 4.3 in the final quarter to fall short.
“We were really happy with the win,” Bell said.
“King Valley are a very good footy side.
“We knew it was gong to be hard and physical.
“When they’ve got blokes like Adam Williams, Matty Glossop, Rea and Sessions, they were always going to be hard to beat.”
