KING Valley midfielder Adam Williams capped a stunning first season in the Ovens and King league last night, winning the Baker Medal in a thrilling vote count.
Williams entered the final home and away round trailing Benalla's Daryl Webb by two votes as the Roos took on the Panthers at Friendlies Reserve.
The star Roo was on fire from the get go, racking up a swag of touches and propelling King Valley to a two-goal win.
He picked up the three votes, while Webb had a quiet day and missed out.
That left Williams on 25 votes, with Webb runner up on 24.
Bright coach Ryan Kent, Goorambat's Travers Nolan and Milawa dynamo Mark Scholte finished tied for third on 18.
