BRIGHT'S reserves outfit continued its purple patch of form midway through the season, notching up a comfortable 73-point away win against Tatong at the weekend.
Tracy Culhane's men now sit comfortably in sixth position after dominant performances in the past month.
In Saturday's match, the reliable John Spencer was a standout for the side in defence, while up forward Travis Applegarth continued to slot goals alongside Greg Larwood who was unleashed in attack, with the pair booting four apiece.
Skipper Jake Denison and Lee Rowe were at their fiery best in the centre of the ground, creating plenty for the Mountain Men who led comfortably at every change.
Other standout performers in the win were Kyle Arter, Jarrad Weimer and the returning Dan Bryant, who provided some relief for the ruck stocks.
Earlier the Ovens and King Alpine Eagles side got back on the winner's list after a thrilling draw with Benalla before the break.
Coming up against the Southern Suns on a cold morning at Glenrowan, the Eagles were slow to get out of the blocks as the Suns dominated the play early in the piece.
When the match evened up, neither side was able to hurt going forward, with the slippery conditions creating a lot of behinds.
Drew Carrigg managed to kick the first of his three majors for the day late in the first term to keep Alpine in touch before quarter time.
In the second stanza, the Eagles started to play the brand of footy that has given them six of eight possible victories so far this season.
Jesse Thomson, Elliot Webb and Damian Jenvey were vital in getting the side back on track, creating plenty of run off the halfback and in the middle of the ground, while Tom Chettleburgh proved he would be an asset for the team in his first appearance.
In attack Nathan Gasperoni asserted himself on the game as the lead up forward, while Darcy Martin slotted two goals in the sloppy victory.
In defence and on the ball, Jason Higgs and Nick Lebish worked well together, and Eric English and Robert Caserotto were solid in the last line for the Eagles.
In the stop-start fixture of the under 18 competition, the Eagles will be looking to continue their hot run of form this weekend against the Londrigan Bulls at North Wangaratta.
