Netball club keen to attract former players to reunion dinner
Beechworth Netball Club is looking for all past players from 1951-2012 and is gathering the records of the history of the club for the last 61 years.
To celebrate the club history, a reunion is being held on Saturday, June 16 and will commence with a courtside afternoon tea at 2pm and dinner at 6.30pm.
"The reunion is a great opportunity to recognise the history of the club and bring together many generations of women and their families that have played for and been a part of the Beechworth Netball Club," Beechworth Netball Club manager Sue Fendyk said.
Unfortunately, in making the arrangements for the reunion, there have been few records, trophies and photos kept and so the history is incomplete.
"We are hoping to make contact with as many players as possible and gather as much information about our best and fairest players and team members' names from our past," senior coach Coby Brock said.
"We want to piece together an accurate history of the club.
"We have some photos from the past and we are still looking for more and the names of each of the team members in the photos."
Beechworth previously played in the Ovens and King league as the Bombers and wore red and black.
The move to the Tallangatta League in 2004 saw a change to the Bushrangers and wearing red and blue.
The club is looking for any old photos, trophies, uniforms, and players from the last 61 years.
For more information about the reunion or any information that could assist the club please contact Shireen Brock on (03) 5728 1960 or Coby Brock on 0438 540 206.
