SWANPOOL broke a 21-game losing streak on Saturday with a memorable six-point win over arch rival Tatong.
The Swans hadn't tasted success since round 18, 2010 and were on the end of some huge beatings last season.
But on Saturday, the Swans were determined to break through for their first win of the season and received a massive coup before the match with the inclusion of star midfielder Craig Lieschke.
Lieshke, a former Ovens and Murray senior player with Wodonga, kicked four goals in a best on ground performance.
Things were tight from the outset with the Magpies keen to secure their second win of the season.
But it was the Swans that got the upper hand in the first half as they kicked eight goals to take a 13-pount lead into the main change.
After a few strong words from coach Andrew James, the Magpies dominated the third quarter, kicking five goals to one to take the lead but the Swans weren't to be denied.
Led by Lieschke, Richard Dennis and Tim Swift, the Swans lifted once again to come home over the top of the Magpies for a thrilling win.
Hugh Edmondson (three goals) and Brad Bell also starred for the Swans while James, Anthony Welsh and Lance Barton were the Magpies' best.
